of men being condesending dicks, there's this guy at work who put himself on my shit list at the beginning of the season by constantly insisting on carrying full tubs of mail for me(to the point of trying to take them out of my arms), even after my insistance that "If I need the help, I'll let you know." Yes the tubs are quite heavy, but not impossible (I have arms that function, and we have carts if it's more than they can handle), and apparently on his shift (he works nights) he's always on his feet with the women at work whining at him to pick this up or move that there or whatever. It was difficult to convey the fact that not ever woman turns air raid siren whiney and helpless at the sight of physical labor without using a bucketload of curse words.

His excuse: Tradition. His momma taught him that. It's being a gentleman. Well, being a gentleman also means taking a woman at her word, so he failed there.

I don't know which is worse: dicks who hide behind the stupidity of chivalry (Look folks, it's 2005, chivalry is dead for most women of common sense who wish to be treated as equals) or the other side of the spectrum; guys who have been coddled by momma to the point that they're helpless to do anything that isn't physical labor (cook, clean, etc.) without direct female supervision--because, of course, keeping a house neat or cooking a decent meal or watching your own child is cuntwork, obviously (1). I hate to throw this word around, because it's been so overused, but I find this two examples to be highly, highly sexist.

(1) and, of course, bully to the girls (can't really call them women, really) who put up with or encourage this crap.
