The "Riddick" Movie

whiteboys, what I like to date
Why in the hell did I start going to movies in theaters again? Wasn't that a great perk of poverty? Not that I'm ungrateful for the free ticket (thanks again [info]jessejoe, it did cure my boredom a little) but it's just that I think I'm a little too cynical to sit in a theatre with people who think that they're watching a great movie and nearly fall asleep or die from suppressing the many sarcastic comments that pop up in my head.

Then again, I wasn't the only one who laughed her ass off at a certain scene in Van Helsing...

I couldn't feel the characters at all in the last couple of movies I saw in theaters. I liken VH to a sterotypical blonde chick, pretty to look at, but not a single brain cell working. They do get points for the steam machine stuff, though. "Riddick" was just a circle jerk involving Vin Disel and the special effects guys. The writers were apparently laughed out of the room before they could finish, so they were stuck to using the "formula" for most action movies these days.

I once again found myself suppressing laughter at a scene that reminded me of VH...

Edit: Current mood-boredboredboredbored. I wanna do something, drink something, smoke something, fuck something, anything, damnit!
